How to I make a flat screen monitor on a computer cake stand up?I am making a computer cake for my brothers birthday. I have a pretty good idea about how to do everything except for how to make it stand up. Please help. I only have 3 days. You need to buy wooden dow rods. You can find them at craft stores.Do it like Duff does on Ace of Cakes on food network. Take a piece of foam core board or ply wood and cover that with fondant and put wood dowels in the bottom to hold it up in the cake layer below. Or you can make a cake like an old Macintosh then place a layer across the bottom for the keyboard. If you are stacking more than 3 layers then reinforce with wood dowels and maybe even place a layer of cardboard between every 3 layers with dowels the same height of each 3 layers. Good luck!
